I believe I have the right mix of experience, creativity and energy to help reprioritize local government on the county level. Since 2003, I’ve served as Director of the West Michigan Executive Office of Secretary of State Terri Lynn Land. Under Secretary Land’s leadership, we work every day to find creative ways to improve services despite budgetary challenges. I share her vision that government can be nimble, cost-effective and responsive.

I’ve also been very involved in my community. Since 2006, I’ve volunteered with the Michigan Center for Civic Education as a volunteer judge for the “We the People” state finals. This is a great program that energizes and encourages young people to get involved in the political process. I have also served on the Eastgate Neighborhood Association Board since 2007, and I am also involved with the Gerald R. Ford Foundation. Over the years, I have given my time to organizations like the Michigan Political Leadership Program, Safe Haven Ministries and Women’s Resource Center.
My most meaningful role, however, is that of wife and mother. My husband, Jason, is an engineer for a local consulting firm, and our son Colin turned two in March.
Also in my role as Director of Secretary Land’s West Michigan Executive office, I coordinate various special events and projects - most notably the 2008 National Association of Secretaries of State conference, hosted here in Grand Rapids. This event consisted more than 300 secretaries of state and their staff, and was an amazing opportunity for our community to be highlighted among an elite group of opinion leaders.
I believe strongly that an effective way to bring about change is through the political party system, and I’ve been involved in the Republican Party since college. I’ve served as a Precinct Delegate, member of the Republican State Committee, Secretary of the Third District Republican Committee, and I’ve volunteered for dozens of local and statewide candidates over the years. I’m proud of the work I’ve done to help good people get elected to office.
To keep up to date on our campaign, join the “Shroll Patrol”. We’ll send out regular updates and discuss pertinent issues affecting our community.
